(8TH March 08) DAVY COWAN & THE STORM CHASERS


Keep a look out for Davy Cowan's new band "THE STORM CHASERS". This exciting new line-up of musicians consists of Davy on guitar/vocals & harmonica and features Robin Abbot & Derek Urquart from "cult" alt/country band "Lush Rollers" on bass & drums, Jazzman Alan Leckie on keyboards, with Rachael Parker on fiddle, percussion & vocals completing the line-up.
The band will be appearing at a host of events over the summer including festivals, village halls & music venues. The Storm Chasers play a range of material featuring songs old & new from both Davy's solo work and Coinneach spanning the past 10 years, adding a new & refreshing twist to many of the old favourites.
This new band includes some of the best musicians from the Highlands, each bringing their own subtle flavour to the table, from Country/Blues, Folk/Rock & Jazz, theses guys can Stomp like a heard of cattle in a howling storm, wrap you up in warm melodies & soothe your soul or Rattle you like a runaway train on an endless track. It's been a while I know, but here goes.
I am delighted to anounce the released of my new E.P entitled "The Summertime E.P" featuring 2 brand new songs entitled Summertime & Shipwrecked. Also on the E.P are a radio edit of Show Me The Way & a Live acoustic version of Cynical Man recorded LIVE at The Barras in Glasgow during my support with Runrig during the Proterra tour in 2003. Also some great news, I will be performing my first gig with my new band "The Storm Chasers" this weekend Sat 14th July at The Portmahomack Music Festival in the heart of the Highlands, check out www.myspace.com/portmahomackmusicfestival.
The band features myself on electric/acoustic guitar & vocals, Rachael Parker on fiddle, Alan Leckie on keyboards, Robin Abbot bass guitar & Derek Urquart drums both from Highland Alt Country legends "Lush Rollers"
We are going to be performing a mixture of songs, some from the Coinneach archives, some from Fragile People, a few brand new numbers which will appear on the new album and a couple of surprises thrown in as well.
I hope to announce some more band gigs in due course, I'll keep you posted.

At the moment I am still working on new material in the studio & hope to have the next album complete by the end of this year (fingers crossed).Thank you all again for your continued support & I'll try to keep you updated more often in future.

(3RD January 2007)Happy New Year to you all

I’ve now started recording tracks for my second solo album hopefully due out near the end of 2007. I plan to release a 4-track E.P in the spring/summer which will contain a couple of brand new songs & a couple of surprises as well. On the live front, Rachael & I plan to do some more gigs together in the coming months as well as my own solo shows. I am also planning putting together a full band line up for some gigs in the Summer & will keep you posted on that. I hope you all had a great Festive season & look forward to seeing you at one of the gigs in 2007.

(1ST JULY 2005)‘FRAGILE PEOPLE’ HMV INSTORE LAUNCH

A special launch event is to be held in the HMV music store, East Gate Shopping Centre, Inverness on Thursday 28TH July.

The event is to coincide with the release of Davy Cowan’s debut solo album, ‘Fragile People’. Davy will perform a ‘Live & Acoustic’ set in store, starting at around 6.30 PM where he will perform a selection of songs from the album. After the live set Davy will be available to sign copies of his CD.

Hi there,welcome to my new website at davycowan.com.
This is the page on the website where we keep you posted on all the latest news, tours/gigs & releases etc.

I have spent the best part of 2004 in the studio recording new tracks for my debut solo album, which I'm delighted to say is now almost complete. We are currently in the proccess of finalising song mixes and getting the art work ready for print. The album should be ready for release and in the shops early in the summer and will be entitled "FRAGILE PEOPLE".

Regarding tour dates & gigs, they are still in the planning stages at the moment, but we will keep you posted here as soon as dates are confirmed.
