We are a charity supporting women, children and young people who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse. We operate in Inverness and Rural Inverness, Nairn, Badenoch and Strathspey. Community website opposing the Cairn Duhie Wind Farm project on Dava Moor. Cairn Duhie is just the latest development — twenty 110m turbines just feet from the road. At the end of the Second World War the Cameron Highlanders decided to build a living war memorial which would be of lasting benefit to future generations and so the first boy’s club in the Highlands was born. A Scottish based charity providing young people between the ages of 14 to 17 with a year long one-to-one befriending and mentoring service, the aim of which is not only to help them discover a positive direction in their lives but also to move into work.

We aim to provide advocates across the Highlands who will support people of all ages:- with mental health problems including dementia, with learning disabilities, who have Autistic Spectrum Disorder and older people who are frail. The STFA has evolved from the Scottish Tenant Farmers Action Group which was formed in 2001 in response to the Scottish Executive’s tenancy reform proposals in the Agricultural Holdings (Scotland) Bill which was passed in March 2003 and has recently become law. Abriachan is a scattered rural community of about 120 people, in the Highlands of Scotland. In 1998 the Abriachan Community purchased 534 hectares of forest and open hill ground from Forest Enterprise We provide a large varied programme of classes and activities, including toddler groups, playgroup, youth clubs, adult education, 50+ clubs, sports, dance, fundraising events, social groups, help groups plus lots lots more.

Heather moorland is an unusual habitat because human beings created and maintain it.
