Abroad again at last

During 2006 I moved, for the final years of my youngest sons's schooling in Scotland, to a perch above a huge vista of sea, islands and mountains, where I ran a guesthouse on my own idiosyncratic lines. It was a success from the morale point of you - people seemed to like it - but I wasn't writing, and the rent was high.

So I moved again - the day my son finished school - this time to a crumbling, 1931 built mudbrick house in the Balkan foothills. And I've started writing again.

You can find my pieces about the move online in the Home and Leisure section of Saga magazine. I do find myself with a sense of Home for the first time in years, but the first months have not exactly been Leisurely.
